Stories of entrepreneurs promoting “Made in Sicily”
Cannoli stuffed with ricotta cheese cream, pizza, “sfoglie” (puff pastries), and then other classic dishes from the traditional Sicilian cuisine. We are not in Sicily….we are in Malta! It’s here that the flavors of Trinacria landed to satisfy the tastes of the many tourists who appreciate these delicacies. Vincenzo Gambuzza, a young businessman from Syracuse, has recently inaugurated DOLCE SICILIA – LA SCOGLIERA.

For some years now, his family has successfully established itself in the catering sector on the Knights’ island. The big two-floor restaurant overlooking the beautiful clear sea, is located in the small village of BaharIc-Caghaq, in Naxxar. On the ground floor the cafeteria, the pastry shop and the pizzeria DOLCE SICILIA, while upstairs you can have lunch or dinner at the restaurant LA SCOGLIERA, the ideal place to eat quality food, drink excellent wines and enjoy a beautiful sea view.

This is the fourth restaurant in Malta under the brand DOLCE SICILIA. A business project of considerable importance which, not only has made it possible to bring here the flavors of Sicily by promoting its image, but also has created new jobs and improved the places where the brand is present.

“We are very attentive to the image of DOLCE SICILIA restaurants. Here, at BaharIc-Caghaqabb, we decided to restore the façade and the interior of the church adjacent to restaurant La Scogliera in order to make the place even more beautiful”.
Vincenzo Gambuzza
10 years ago Emanuele Gambuzza, Vincenzo’s father, opened the first restaurant-bar DOLCE SICILIA in Paceville, and this was the beginning of their business. The quality of products sold and a continuous analysis on customers’ needs, made people immediately appreciate DOLCE SICILIA.

Later, the Gambuzza family provided their know-how to small entrepreneurs who wanted to open similar bars and restaurants, thus creating a franchise formula for the opening of other DOLCE SICILIA-branded bars-restaurants in Msida, Bugibba and Sliema. In the meantime DOLCE SICILIA LAB was born, a laboratory of over 700 square meters located in Marsa, in a very strategic position for import-export activities: every day it supplies high quality artisan products to all the DOLCE SICILIA-branded bar-restaurants.

And the story continues …
